Registration Cost

The non-members' price is $99. Current ELASCD Members will receive an email with a promo code that lets them attend for $79.

 

The price of registration includes access to the conference, a 1-year membership to ELASCD, snacks, and lunch on Saturday. Current ELASCD affiliate members will have their memberships extended for one year. Current (2020 and 2021) Emerging Leaders’ one-year memberships begin when they leave the program. 

 

Participants are responsible for lodging and travel costs associated with getting to the conference.

 

Covid-19 Statement

The city of Baltimore no longer requires residents and visitors to wear masks indoors. As the city of Baltimore shifts its Covid-19 guidelines, we will update attendees.

Session and Other Event Proposals

Once participants have registered for the conference, we will contact you about opportunities to submit proposals for sessions and other events.

 

Participants will have these following opportunities to lead different styles of professional learning.

 

  • Passion Professional Learning Session Facilitators - These sessions will allow ELASCD members to showcase projects, strategies, concepts, and research in areas that illustrate their passions in the educational field. These prepared sessions will be 40 minutes in length. There will be three time slots for these sessions with two sessions offered in each time slot. (six sessions offered in total).

  • Networking Experts - During a one-hour networking mixers, ELASCD members can make themselves available for small group discussions on topics of their expertise. Members interested in volunteering as a networking expert will submit an area of expertise they will be willing to discuss during this time. Participants will be provided a master list of experts before the conference to make a plan of who they’d like to see. These are not planned presentations, but rather opportunities to offer advice, talk out ideas, or provide some mentoring and coaching. There is no limit to the number of participants who can be networking experts.

  • Interest Group Leaders - These are small group discussions on topics of interest led by an ELASCD member. These will occur for an hour and fifteen minutes There will be up to 8 interest groups offered. ELASCD members who lead interest groups will be responsible for preparing some discussion questions and other helpful materials for the group such as readings, manipulatives, or whatever might facilitate the group’s understanding of the topics. Leaders will also provide opportunities for other participants in the group to bring up questions and share expertise.

 

***NOTE: Unconference Sessions - These sessions will be proposed and voted on at the conference. They require no proposals.

 

Goodie Exchange 

One of the new ELASCD Alumni Affiliate traditions we are piloting at this event is an exchanging of mementos or souvenirs, something that reflects a unique aspect of each participant’s school or state. This is a voluntary activity and is not a required part of the event. If you choose to participate, please bring with you a simple, inexpensive item (a quantity of up to 40) to share. There will be a short time on Sunday morning to exchange the goodies. Some items you could consider bringing: candy, key chains, lapel pins, book marks, stickers to name a few.

 

Continuing Education Certificate 

ELASCD will provide Continuing Education certificates for 10 hours of professional learning to each attendee. It is up to each attendee to check with their LEA, school, or organization to determine whether their certificates will be accepted toward maintaining their licenses.

A workgroup is comprised of a group of ELASCD members who will collaborate to enhance the quality of ELASCD as an ASCD Affiliate.​Please indicate which workgroup(s) you would be most interested in serving.
